Camp KOALA
Camp Description Camp KOALA (Kids Overcoming, Adapting, Learning and Achieving), West Penn Hospital Burn Camp’s mission is to provide a safe haven where children can talk and relate to other kids sharing similar experiences. The children will use physical and social activities to develop their self-worth by experiencing new activities and learning to take positive risks. We strive to help kids who have sustained a burn, overcome feelings of being different or of not fitting in in their communities. Our camp will be a place where scars and struggles do not limit opportunities for friendship and laughter. Our summer camp will celebrate each camper’s unique personality while acknowledging all campers’ common history of having been burned.
